We are delighted to announce that You Gotta Believe is partnering with Heart Gallery NYC to launch the first-ever NYC PRIDE Exhibit.
The exhibit will shed light on the problem of the disproportionately high number of LGBTQ youth in foster care and will kick off a long-term YGB campaign to improve outcomes for LGBTQ youth. And, using the energy of Pride Month we hope to reach out to the LGBT community about the need for parents for all older youth in care at risk of aging out alone.
The PRIDE Exhibit will feature a number of brave and incredible youth who have chosen not only to advocate for themselves, but to serve as ambassadors for the hundreds and thousands of youth in care. Large, stark yet colorful photos provide an opportunity for the world to see the real faces of LGBTQ and non-LGBTQ youth – all in need of lifetime families. We hope that people recognize that all kids in foster care, no matter their age or orientation, need and deserve what every child does: loving and affirming lifetime parents.
Following a formal launch, the exhibit kicks off at the Times Square Alliance for ten days and will travel to other venues in New York City thereafter.
