Jay Rivers was formally introduced to YGB when she was adopted into a YGB Family in October of 2021. Jay, who is now 22 years old, was the second GAP Advocate brought to the program and has been promoted to Part Time Advocate at YGB for the Long Island Division. Jay has participated in YGB events as well as has been asked to speak in MAPP Classes and share her perspective as being an older adoptee.

Jay grew up in the Rhode Island Foster Care System from the age of 6 to the time she aged out at 18. She has experience in both foster homes and group homes. She found her forever YGB family at 18 years old which comprises her two moms and two younger adoptive sisters, who were also in the foster care system.
