Mike always knew he wanted to be a father—but he never saw a version of parenthood that felt possible for him. Then he found YGB.
What began as curiosity—just a parent training class—quickly became clarity. Over time, Mike realized he was ready to take the next step: opening his heart and home to an older youth in foster care.
That decision opened the door to more. When his son’s 15-year-old brother arrived in the U.S. alone, Mike said yes again. They didn’t share a language, but with Google Translate—and a lot of love—they built a family.
Today, Mike is raising two sons and embracing his growing family. His story proves that family isn’t defined by paperwork—it’s defined by love, belonging, and showing up.
